WashU Graduate and Professional Votes (WUGPV), a nonpartisan group of graduate and professional students at Washington University in St. Louis, is hosting a general base meeting (GBM) on Thursday, February 29 at 5:00PM in the Graduate Center in the basement of the Women’s Building.

The formation of this group was motivated by National Study of Learning, Voting, and Engagement (NSLVE) data on civic engagement behaviors of Washington University students which indicated lagging civic participation rates amongst graduate and professional students. WUGPV aims to address this by providing an organizing space for graduate and professional student to develop and implement peer-led initiatives that specifically encourage civic participation among their peers.  Past events we’ve done are Graduate and Professional Student Voter Registration Happy Hour, Blind Date with a Ballot, and providing rides to early voting sites in St. Louis City.
