Victoria Girard grew up in France and graduated with a PhD in Microbiology of Montreal University and an Engineer Degree in Food microbiology from AgroParisTech. She joined bioMérieux in 2008 and started in the R&D Microbiology department in France where she contributed to the development of a microorganism identification diagnostic test using mass spectrometry. She also implemented research projects in partnership with academic and private institutes with the objective of improving the accuracy of bacterial identification. Recently, she was nominated Vice President of US R&D Microbiology and moved to St. Louis. She is currently working on developing diagnostic tests to fight the global threat of Antimicrobial Resistance.
