Santanu Das is a professor of modern literature and culture and senior research fellow at All Souls College, University of Oxford. He is the author of two award-winning monographs, "Touch and Intimacy in First World War Literature" (2006) and "India, Empire and First World War Culture: Writings, Images, and Songs" (2018), and the editor of several critical volumes, including "Race, Empire and First World War Writing" and "Cambridge Companion to the Poetry of the First World War," all published by Cambridge University Press. He is currently editing the "Oxford Book of First World War Empire Writing" and completing a volume of essays provisionally titled "Forms of Experience: Archive, Body and the Literary." He is also working on a monograph on the experience and aesthetics of sea voyages from Victorian times to now.
