The Death of Breonna Taylor

Monday, October 26 | 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM

Virtual Event

WashULaw will host a panel discussion on the death of Breonna Taylor. The tragedy highlights many criminal justice issues, including legal and social concerns around policing and the treatment of black women.

Our panel will include St. Louis City Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner, alongside WashULaw Professors Daniel Harawa and Peter Joy. Vice Dean Peggie Smith will moderate.

You can register to watch their conversation virtually on Zoom.

This event is presented by the Washington University School of Law Public Interest Law & Policy Speaker Series and co-sponsored by the Assembly Series. MCLE 1.0

I was very disappointed by the verbosity of 2 of the panelists and their inability to focus on the intent of the questions or provide answers. Not a lawyer myself, but this discussion indicates that the legal system has no concept of conducting a failure investigation to address disasters like the shooting of Breonna Taylor.

My internet connectivity prevented me from participating. I would be very interested in viewing the recording if available.

Thank you!
