Making Capital Friendly (and Accessible)

Join the Skandalaris Center for an event focused on understanding financial capital and how to access it. WashU Professor Heather Cameron will share her research and the impact capital (and access to it) has on underrepresented entrepreneurs. Wells Fargo’s Judith Goldkrand will discuss the basic types of capital and how underrepresented entrepreneurs can access it.

Breakout discussions with the speakers will follow the speaker presentations.

This event is open to all but geared towards underrepresented populations seeking capital for their business.

Speaker Information

Speakers:

Judith Goldkrand, Senior Vice President, Wells Fargo & Company

Goldkrand, a Senior Vice President with Wells Fargo, is the National Women’s Segment Leader and National Asian Segment Leader. Judith has more than 25 years of experience in banking including Corporate Finance, Private Banking, and Business Banking. Most recently, Judith was awarded the Industry Leadership Award by Professional Business Women of California. Judith and her wife have two college-age daughters and two dogs.

Heather Cameron, Michael B. Kaufman Professor of Practice for Social Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Brown School

Cameron develops and teaches a transdisciplinary curriculum in social innovation and entrepreneurship, advises students at the masters and doctoral levels, builds career and enterprise pipelines, and pursues research on comparative urban education and development, and social impact strategies. She continues to work all over the world as an advisor and evaluator of development and education projects, most recently for the Ministry of Education in Afghanistan. She completed post-doctoral studies on technology and public space at the Technical University of Berlin.

Andi Simon

Simon is an international leader in the emerging field of corporate anthropology, an Axiom Best Business Book of 2017 winning author of On the Brink: A Fresh Lens to Take Your Business To New Heights, and the founder of Simon Associates Management Consultants. Andi is a co-founder of the Skandalaris Center’s Simon Initiative, designed to develop a more diverse ecosystem of entrepreneurs, inventors, advisors, mentors and investors.
