The Department of Romance Languages and Literatures is proud to present the Latin American Film Festival @ WashU. This spring, we will be screening five films by contemporary Latin American directors:
- Atempa, Dreams by the River (Atempa, Sueños a la Orilla del Río), directed by Edson J. Caballero Trujillo (Mexico); Friday, March 3, 5-7pm, Brown 100
- Vicenta, directed by Dario Doria (Argentina); Friday, March 10, 5-7pm, Brown 100
- A Bruddah’s Mind (Cabeça de Nêgo), directed by Déo Cardoso (Brazil); Friday, March 24, 4-6pm, Wrighton 300
- Bad Hair (Pelo Malo), directed by Mariana Rondón (Venezuela); Friday, March 31, 4-6pm, Wrighton 300
- Camila’s Awakening (El Despertar de Camila), directed by Rosario Jiménez Gili (Chile); Tuesday, April 24, 4-6pm, Wrighton 300
All screenings are open to the WU campus community.
This film festival is sponsored by the Pragda Spanish Film Club, Romance Languages and Literatures; the Center for the Humanities; and Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies.
