The Center for Community Health Partnership & Research (CCHPR) invites researchers and community members to discuss the IRB process with campus experts. Join Carissa Minder and Mitchell Saulisbury-Robertson of the Human Resource Protection Office (HRPO) for a Collaborative Café centered on working with the IRB and tips to make the process easier.

Attendees can expect to:

  • Learn to determine if a research project involves human subjects, is research that requires IRB approval
  • Learn what community engaged research is and determine when community partners are engaged research
  • Understand the differences in working with HRPO/IRB as an individual researcher vs as an organization/team involved in research
  • Outline the steps and timeframe for IRB application, approval, and monitoring when conducting research with engaged community partners
  • Hear helpful tips to include community researchers in the IRB process and to make the process seamless
