Inclusive Perspectives: The Power of Language

Tuesday, August 3 | 12:30 PM - 1:30 PM

Language not only enables us to describe, define, categorize and organize our world, it creates our reality and influences our behavior. It also holds great power to shape our perceptions of people and situations and to include or exclude.

This conversation will focus on language and disability, with ideas on how to choose your words to center the person and to avoid perpetuating hurtful stereotypes.

This program is part of the Inclusive Perspectives series, which shares lived experience, practitioner expertise, and research findings regarding inclusion of people with disabilities.

Register online to receive Zoom information on the morning of the event. You can also join us during the live stream.
