Language not only enables us to describe, define, categorize and organize our world, it creates our reality and influences our behavior. It also holds great power to shape our perceptions of people and situations and to include or exclude.
This conversation will focus on language and disability, with ideas on how to choose your words to center the person and to avoid perpetuating hurtful stereotypes.
