Inclusive Perspectives: Disability and Inclusion – Making the Invisible Visible
Tuesday, January 18, 2022 9 AM to 10 AM
About this Event
The impacts of disabilities are influenced by personal and environmental factors that 'other' or stigmatize people with impairments. The role of the invisible systemic factors and cultural norms will be discussed. The presentation will draw on experiences of working in a low-income community, strategies to interrupt these unworkable norms that converge with state policies.
This program is part of the Brown School Curriculum Showcase and the Inclusive Perspectives series, which shares lived experience, practitioner expertise, and research findings regarding the inclusion of people with disabilities.
