Want to know the elemental and chemical state of your material? X-ray photoelectron spectrum (XPS) can give you the answer. XPS measures elemental constitution and chemical states of a material surface. By removing the material layer by layer using gentle sputtering, the depth profile of elements as well as their chemical state can be obtained.
