#SeminarDeveloping deep-learning algorithms for medical imaging: A four-pillar framework
Abstract: Artificial intelligence (AI), and more specifically, deep-learning (DL)-based algorithms have been showing strong promise in multiple areas in medicine. In this talk, I will present a four-pillar framework that we have used to develop DL algorithms for medical imaging. We will discuss multiple examples in medical imaging that will demonstrate how, by following this framework, we are able to select impactful problems, design algorithms that are inherently poised for success in the clinical task, generalizable, and not require large training datasets, validate these algorithms on clinical tasks of interest, and finally, engage with the community for wider and stronger impact and translation of these algorithms.
