In this digital “show and tell,” curator Skye Lacerte will share items from Washington University Libraries’ D.B. Dowd Modern Graphic History Library (DMGHL), the most comprehensive archival collection of periodical illustration held by an academic institution. Skye will focus on what makes the DMGHL unique, the value of preserving illustration history, and how the collections are being used across multiple fields in academic scholarship.
The talk will have a particular focus on the Al Parker Collection, offering a glimpse into the life and work of one of the most prolific and celebrated American illustrators of the twentieth century. Join us for this highly visual tour of the collection, from hidden treasures to familiar favorites.
The event will take place on Zoom and advance registration is required.
