#SeminarFrom optical imaging of the brain to brain-inspired Photonic
Abstract: The brain is a powerful organ that regulates health and drives intelligence. In this talk, I'll explore two main topics related to understanding the brain and designing smarter systems inspired by it. First, I'll discuss the development of optical microscopy and computational tools that enable us to better image the brain. By leveraging short-wave infrared light, adaptive optics, and AI, we've pushed the boundaries of state-of-the-art optical microscopy with deeper, faster, and more diverse information. Then, I'll discuss our work on brain-inspired optical systems for more efficient information encoding and learning, which allows for optical processing large-scale data. Lastly, I'll highlight the potential opportunities inspired by these works to develop optical tools to better understand the brain and diseases, and to design next-generation smart optical systems.
