The Faculty Development & Support Initiative under WashU's ten-year strategic vision, Here and Next, will be hosting a university-wide town hall presentation. The presentation will be given by Dr. KerryAnn O’Meara, Professor of Higher Education and Distinguished Scholar Teacher at the University of Maryland. Dr. KerryAnn O’Meara will share lessons from working with campuses on faculty evaluation reform. She will outline equity-minded principles to guide the process, and evidence-based considerations as departments, colleges and a University Approach revision to faculty evaluation policies and practices.
Dr. KerryAnn O'Meara is Professor of Higher Education and a Distinguished Scholar Teacher at the University of Maryland, College Park. Her research examines faculty careers and academic rewards systems with a particular focus on organizational practices that support and limit the full participation of women, minoritized faculty and engaged scholars. She has been continuously funded by the National Science Foundation since 2010, and is PI of a National Science Foundation, EHR Core Research HRD Award entitled, Understanding when diversity, equity and inclusion “count” in promotion and tenure evaluations.
