This teaching talk introduces the concept of deadlock in computer systems, what it is, how it occurs, the deadlock detection algorithm, and, time permitting, deadlock prevention and deadlock avoidance strategies. The speaker will highlight their pedagogical design choices in the lesson concurrently with the main presentation, hopefully with a minimum of context switching. We will conclude with a brief discussion of the speaker’s teaching style, teaching philosophy, and highlight the speaker’s teaching experience.

Talk Location: McKelvey 1020
