Sarah L. Webb uses a multicultural and intersectional framework to teach students how to identify the systemic impact and the interpersonal manifestations of colorism in higher education. Through presentation, discussion, and reflection, workshop attendees explore individual and institutional approaches to mitigating colorism.

Speaker Information

Sarah L. Webb is an assistant professor in the department of English and Modern Languages at the University of Illinois Springfield where she teaches Writing and Cultural Studies. She launched the website Colorism Healing (@colorismhealing) in 2013 to raise awareness and create change. Since then, she has reached thousands of people across the globe through her international writing contest, anthologies, articles, interviews, presentations and workshops.
