Collaborative Approaches to Addressing Historical and Intergenerational Trauma

Thursday, October 20, 2022 | 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM

Intergenerational trauma is a term that has implications for anyone working with children, youth, adults, and families across all service systems. It is a complex construct that entails developmental neurobiology and epigenetics, and because it overlaps with historical trauma, it also involves an understanding of the legacy of racism, slavery, colonialism, and genocide.

Join us as we share a brief history of intergenerational and historical trauma, and identify ways to integrate a trauma-informed approach to research and care, highlighting attachment and cultural humility as it relates to the uniqueness surrounding collaborative approaches.

This Building a Transformative 21st Century Research Agenda presentation is part of a six-webinar series and presented in partnership with the American Academy of Social Work and Social Welfare (AASWSW) and the Brown School at Washington University in St. Louis.

Register online to receive Zoom information on the morning of the event. You can also join us during the live stream.
