Mohamed Mbougar Sarr is a Senegalese writer who hails from Diourbel, Senegal, and pursued his studies in France. Sarr has authored four novels and received recognition for several award-winning short stories. In a historic achievement, he clinched the prestigious 2021 Prix Goncourt for his novel "The Most Secret Memory of Men," making him the first Sub-Saharan African to attain this honor. Sarr is scheduled to visit the AFAS Foundations class, where he will engage with students and discuss his literary works.
