https://students.wustl.edu/trio-50th-anniversary/The second week in November marks a major and historical milestone for WashU: the 50th anniversary of the TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) program on campus. Part of our holistic mission as the TRIO SSS program is to ensure that Scholars receive the support they need to navigate through the academic pipeline and successfully transition into post-graduation life. Since 1971, WashU’s TRIO program has served upwards of 10,000 first-generation, low-income, and students with disabilities. This is a phenomenal achievement. WashU’s TRIO Scholars program is also one of the longest continuously grant-funded SSS programs in the nation. Within a network of the 1,155 other SSS programs in operation at colleges and universities across the United States, WashU’s TRIO program continues a legacy of helping Scholars achieve their academic and career aspirations. Additional information about our program is available at https://students.wustl.edu/trio-program/.
Join us in celebrating “50 Years of TRIO,” November 8-11. The program, which includes daily panels about the different identities that TRIO Scholars hold, kicks off with the acknowledgment of First-Generation Celebration Day on November 8 and will culminate in a discussion with WashU’s TRIO alumni.
